Joe grew up on the Parkhurst estate on the Isle of Wight. Largely self taught, he took his one-man show, Bane, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival winning a sweep of awards: "Excellent" - The Times, "Brilliant" - The Guardian, "Rollicking" - The Evening Standard. "A virtuoso performance" - The Stage. The show earned him several acting and writing nominations. He went on to write and perform three more shows in the Bane series and tour them to the US, Australia, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Italy and Brazil, where they have been syndicated into Portuguese. He took a short hiatus from acting to focus on his writing.In 2017 Joe co-wrote psychological thriller, 'Keepers' with Celyn Jones (Submergence, Set Fire to the Stars) directed by Kristoffer Nyholm (The Killing, Taboo), starring Peter Mullan and Gerard Butler. Joe is co-writing his second feature, The Corrupt, with Celyn Jones, to be directed by Kristoffer Nyholm.
